i am hoping to do a job or two the winch on the scrambler needs fixing and i need to finish my tidy up and them make a start on prepping the gt cj7 for its mot welded floorplate and some axle repairs is just about it i think i realy must shake off the winter lull and do some tinkiring

we have had a new arrival come to visit the workshop in the shape of a face lift xj a very clean mint one its visiting to have a rustys lift kit installed so we are going to make an effort to take pics at most if not all the stages so that it can be put up on the web for any one to get an idea of what is involved
in fact i think its probably a good idea to keep a digital camera in the workshop for general jobs anyway like today we are gonna finish making a pair of rock bumpers yesterday we missed the photo op of how to use a football to blow a dent out of a jeep door

we have hit a problem the 8inch roof chop is going ok kinda sorta but we just worked out the owner is over 6ft he might need a roof hatch or cupola to drive it

roof chop looks good so far and we have sorted the height problem...... we took the seat out :lol: tomorrow we start on the pink camo job and the lowered springs must be fitted. oh and not to forget the neon's and chrome tailpipe cover

You know the roof is structural on an XJ don't you??? A roof chop is normally accompanied by a full cage to stop the body flexing and doors not shutting...

yup it was but after reseting and doing a compresion test i found a sixty psi loss of compresion on no 5 rather than do a full strip and rush to get back on da road i am gonna fit the warmed rebuilt 360 to it and rebuild the 304 at my leasure

update i have had a bizare couple of weeks with my old jeep i will do a full write up with pics when i get the chance but we are now running a warmmed 360 v8 and it sounds very nice indeed a deeper note for sure compared to the 304
